What is Osteopathy?
Manual Osteopathy is a holistic system of healing that is hands on and non-invasive. It is based on the belief that the body is a unit and is capable of self-healing. Manual Osteopaths work with their hands to mobilize joints, bones, and the soft tissues in the body in order to relieve pain, stimulate healing, remove restriction and to bring the body back into alignment.
In Osteopathic Philosophy there is a belief that structure governs function. Structural problems can cause a wide variety of issues such as nerve compression, muscle spasms, joint pain or even such problems as headaches and digestive issues. By finding the root cause of some of these conditions – The practitioner will use a variety of hands on techniques to correct the structural problem in order to restore function.
Osteopathy is drug-free, non-invasive, totally natural, and very effective. Osteopathic Manual Practitioners are becoming more and more highly regarded in their ability to treat chronic pain and musculoskeletal conditions – Manual Osteopaths are quite often the “last stop†for many patients who have tried everything and still hadn’t found the relief they were looking for.
