Inside The Mind Of Our Master Hypnotist

For years, Allan Hassoun was one of Orangeville’s most successful realtors — the kind of guy who could read a room and close a deal. But somewhere between the subzero showings and the holiday-weekend open houses, something shifted. Today, Allan has traded for-sale signs for something far less tangible: the human subconscious. We sat down with him to talk about the leap, the myths around hypnosis, and what actually happens in a clinical hypnotherapy session.

From For-Sale Signs to Inner Architecture

Before we go deep, I have to ask the obvious question — what makes someone go from closing housing deals to helping people navigate their subconscious minds?

For years, I absolutely loved being a realtor and working with my clients right here in the Orangeville area. But even while closing deals, I never stopped studying how the human mind works, how we process energy, and how we ultimately shift our reality. A few years ago, the dynamics changed. Showing homes on my family’s birthdays, working holiday weekends, and standing outside in subzero weather stopped feeling worth it — the fulfillment just wasn’t there anymore.

Meanwhile, my love for hypnosis and energy-based modalities was doing the opposite: it kept expanding. One of my personal mantras is that the right door always opens before another one closes. Because I’d spent years laying that groundwork, the transition was remarkably easy. I used to help people find a place to live. Now, I help them feel truly at home within themselves.

No, You Won’t Be Clucking Like a Chicken

When most people hear “hypnosis,” they picture a stage show — someone forced to cluck like a chicken. What does hypnosis actually look like in a clinical setting, and why would someone book a session with you?

Nobody has ever paid me to cluck like a chicken — and honestly, would you? Entertainment hypnosis and clinical hypnosis are completely different worlds. Stage hypnosis relies on compliance and performance, whereas clinical work is a powerful tool for genuine therapeutic transformation — from helping a patient undergo major surgery with zero anesthesia, to helping elite athletes fine-tune their performance.

My own focus is deliberately narrow: helping people clear out old traumas, dissolve limiting beliefs, and shift their energetic frequency so they can actively build a life they actually want. I work with people who are truly ready to change in six sessions or less. I’m not looking for clients who see themselves as victims of circumstance — I partner with action-takers who are done making excuses and ready to rewrite their subconscious software.

One Mind, Different Jobs

D

The subconscious feels almost like it has its own personality and language — a part of us we don’t fully understand. As someone who works with it every day, can you demystify how it actually works?

The first thing I like to tell people is that we don’t actually have two separate minds — we only have one mind, with different parts doing different jobs, the same way one body relies on different organs. The conscious mind is the observer that catches daily information; the subconscious is the massive databank that stores every piece of it. It doesn’t judge or filter — it just collects and files it away.

What I desperately want clients to understand is this: when mental or emotional problems show up, you are not broken. It’s almost always an issue of corrupted data — your mind trying to make sense of your current reality using outdated or false information it picked up somewhere along the way. And the good news is that the subconscious is remarkably fast. Properly guided, it doesn’t need years of agonizing analysis. In seconds, it can scan the entire databank, pinpoint the root of the problem, and build a new, healthier solution.

You aren’t fixing a broken machine; you are just hitting refresh on the data.

What a Session Actually Looks Like

This sounds amazing. How does someone actually get started?

It’s simple — book online and we work together in person, right here at Cardinal Points Clinic. We can get a lot done in even one session, but for a major life change or a trauma that’s been sitting there for decades, it may take more work. That’s why I also offer a five-session combo package — for most people, that’s enough to heal profoundly, and it’s what I recommend for anyone with deep-rooted concerns.
